Ngwathe Local Municipality at work! BRIEFING ON THE SEDIBE SOLAR PROJECT IN NGWATHE LM. 23 May 2025 Today, on my capacity as the Executive Mayor of Ngwathe Local Municipality, with Members of the Mayoral Committee, and Senior Management team led by MM Dr F.P Mothamaha welcomed the appointed technical team by Teraco, for the implementation of the Sedibe Solar Project in Parys. The contractor for the Sedibe initiative is scheduled to commence with Phase 1 being the construction of the solar plant, in August 2025, for a duration of 12 months. As part of the project scope, engagements will be held shortly prior to the commencement of Phase 1, with the public and various stakeholders of Ngwathe. The project will be key for the municipality in its efforts to boost the local economy, improve service delivery, and to create job opportunities for local communities. As indicated by the technical team, a project implementation plan will be executed as from next week. A project steering committee comprising of internal and external members, will also be appointed to importantly ensure that the project is successfully implemented and completed.
