*Chelsea's Mudryk Set to Attend Conference League Final Despite Doping Suspension*
Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk will be in the stands for Wednesday’s UEFA Conference League final against Real Betis in Wroclaw, Poland—even though he hasn’t played since November due to a doping suspension.
The 24-year-old Ukrainian international tested positive for meldonium in December and has been provisionally suspended ever since. His last match was a Conference League clash with Heidenheim, where he scored in a 2-0 win.
Chelsea will receive 50 medals for players and staff, and Mudryk is expected to be included.
The club and player insist he never knowingly used a banned substance and are working with authorities to find out how the positive result occurred. A ruling on his ‘B’ sample is still pending.
Mudryk, who joined Chelsea in 2023 for €70 million, has made 73 appearances for the club, scoring 10 goals and providing 11 assists. His contract runs until 2031.
