Another principle that is good to bear in mind when it comes to the pursuit of God's purpose for our lives is that our vision would likely attract opposition. The story of Nehemiah illustrates that our vision will not be exempted from opposition merely because it serves a good purpose. Rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem was certainly a good idea but that did not stop opposition from rising against that vision. Your vision is not too good to be opposed. So, as we continue the pursuit of God's purpose for our lives. It is important that we develop what we may call thick skin in relation to opposition. This means that you are not unnecessarily defensive and you won't give up easily simply because your vision is being opposed.
