*THE GENEROSITY OF PURPOSE.* _Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves (Philippians 2:3 NLT)._ Beautiful evening dear friend. Happy Sunday. In Acts 4, the Bible tells us the believers were together in one accord, united in heart and mind. They felt that what they owned was not their own. They didn’t even claim ownership of their own possessions. Selfishness was not a part of their community. No one said, _“That’s mine; you can’t have it.”_ So they shared everything they had. They shared everything. We learn then that giving in the pursuit of God's purpose for our lives begins from our attitude to our possessions. Our ability to share our time, resources, gifts, talents and unique life experiences depends on how much we recognise that we are trustees of the things we own. We will give more freely when we appreciate that God owns everything we have and we are called to be faithful stewards of our possessions. Like those believers in the early church, we too must eschew selfishness and be willing to share what we have. This is the key to being effective in our pursuit of purpose - to have the heart of a steward and be a generous giver of our resources. *Pray by faith with me thus:* "Lord, help me to have the right attitude towards everything you have given me."
