*GUIDANCE FOR CRITICAL MOMENTS IN OUR PURSUIT OF PURPOSE.*
_Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it” (Isaiah 30:21 NIV)._
Blessed evening dear friend.
In Jesus' genealogy as contained in the book of Matthew, one of the few women on the list is Ruth. The Bible tells us that Salmon was the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab and Boaz was the father of Obed whose mother was Ruth. Obed gave birth to Jesse who then gave birth to King David. But Ruth's story did not start from when she had Obed. We see that the defining moment in Ruth's life was when she decided to stay with her mother-in-law. She had the opportunity to walk away after her husband, brother-in-law and father-in-law died but she made the decision to be loyal to her mother-in-law and the decision changed her life forever.
We see then that a singular decision can set a person on a path that changes their lives forever. For Ruth, it was deciding whether to leave her mother-in-law and return to her people. For Moses it was the decision to turn aside and see what was happening with a burning bush. For Esther, it was signing up to be the King's queen. For Nehemiah, it was leaving his job with the king to help rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. For the Apostles, it was leaving whatever they were doing and following Jesus. The point is that certain decisions are life-changing and it is important that we have the wisdom to make the right decision when it matters. We won't always know which decision has the potential to completely change our lives. Indeed, for most of us what will change our lives is a series of decisions that will add up to make a difference in our lives. Ultimately, it is important that we are led by God's Spirit in all our decision making because every decision counts on the journey to becoming all that God created us to be.
*Pray by faith with me thus:* "Lord, help me to recognize the key moments of my life and to be led by Your Spirit towards making the right decision."
*Keypoint:* In our pursuit of purpose, there will be critical moments when divine guidance is even more critical and wisdom is profitable to direct.
