Visit of Chief Executive PARB (Punjab Agricultural Research Board), Govt. of Punjab to Department of Soil Science, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Dr. Abid Mahmood, Chief Executive of PARB (Punjab Agricultural Research Board), Govt. of Punjab visited the Department of Soil Science at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur to review progress on a PARB-funded research project. Dr. Azhar Hussain, Associate Professor and PARB funded project’s team leader, delivered a detailed presentation on the key outcomes and innovative products developed under the project, highlighting their potential for industrial application. During the visit, Dr. Azhar Hussain also showcased various facilities available at the Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arshad (TI, DNP) Soil and Environmental Microbiology Laboratory. These facilities reflect the lab's growing capacity for advanced research and its relevance to both public and industrial sectors. Dr. Abid Mahmood praised the quality of ongoing research and emphasized the importance of translating research into practical solutions for the agricultural industry, especially to address current challenges in Punjab's agri-sector. He also acknowledged the strong academic leadership at IUB, including the Chairman, Department of Soil Science and the Dean, Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, for fostering a multidisciplinary and collaborative research environment.
