BioE3 The Government of India has recently released the BioE3 policy to support biomanufacturing in our country. Biology for Economy, Environment & Employment is the BioE3 policy. One of the vertical of the policy is Carbon Capture and Utilisation. The innovative application of synthetic biology tools for improving microalgal strains to sequester CO2 from industrial flue gas or exhaust gas and generating biomass feedstock for Biofuels and various bioproducts. The carbon footprint is to be reduced and technology expert are working on cultivation and genetic modification of microalgae using cutting edge tools of synthetic biology, study the rate of CO2 fixation, carbon capture efficiency and biomass productivity using synthetic microalgae in the presence of high CO2. International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB )located in Trieste, Italy and in Capetown, South Africa with the third in New Delhi is an intergovernmental organisation with operation aligned to those of the United Nations Common System. ICGEB New Delhi component is under Department of Biotechnology, Government of India with a major focus on three broad areas: Biofuels and carbon capture, Crop Biotechnology and Infectious diseases. All the living creatures including humans are linked and we are responsible for our own survival.
