https://cite.org.zw/learnmore-jonasi-headlines-umahlekisa-tour/. Zimbabwean comedy brand Umahlekisa Entertainment has launched its latest tour, Coming From America, headlined by internationally recognised stand-up comedian Learnmore Jonasi, a former finalist on America’s Got Talent. The tour is set to open in Bulawayo on 23 August 2025. The announcement was made during a media briefing in Bulawayo on Thursday. Speaking at the launch, Umahlekisa Director Ntando Van Moyo said the initiative aims to elevate Zimbabwean comedy while promoting local talent on an international platform. “Learnmore represented both himself and Zimbabwe on America’s Got Talent. We’re proud to bring him home for this tour,” Moyo said. “Our vision is to position comedy as part of Zimbabwe’s tourism package and grow the arts economy through strategic partnerships.” The show is being organised in partnership with Signature Suits, a local fashion brand that supports arts and creative industries in Bulawayo. Sizolwenkosi Dube, Chief Operations Officer of Signature Suits, said the company is committed to working with creatives and fostering inclusive growth in the sector. “We believe in supporting local artists. No one should be left behind,” said Dube. “Hosting Learnmore Jonasi is just the beginning. We’re open for collaborations that build Bulawayo’s cultural scene.” Moyo added that the tour may include a stop in Victoria Falls and will feature a line-up of five comedians, including a female performer, a first for Umahlekisa tours. “We are deliberate about inclusivity. We want to give women in comedy a platform to shine,” he said. Umahlekisa’s Communications Manager, Brighton Ncube, encouraged performers and fans to connect via the organisation’s website for updates, ticketing, and performance opportunities. “Artists who want to perform or open for Learnmore can apply through [email protected]. We’re committed to supporting every artist in Bulawayo,” Ncube said. *At CITE, we dig deep to preserve the stories that shaped us—ZPRA Liberation Archives, the DRC War, and more.
