`How to Still Be Rich Even If You Are Not That Smart`
[Congratulations for opening this post! Too many people overestimate their intelligence and would never open. Unfortunately, the balance sheet exposes them].

Firstly, let’s kill the myth once and for all: you don’t need to be a genius to be rich. Some of the wealthiest people you know aren’t that smart at all. They just play the game differently. They know what works.
Maybe, just like me, you have been told "you are not that clever," "you are a slow learner," or "just average." But here’s the truth that will save your future: Mental horsepower is not all that matters when it comes to creating wealth.
So if you're not a genius, here’s how you can still end up rich and maybe richer than the so-called “intellectuals”:
1. Use Street Smarts Instead of Book Smarts.
Forget trying to become a walking encyclopedia. Instead, become a problem spotter and value creator.
- spot where people are lazy, and do what they avoid?
- sense what people need, even if they don’t say it?
- see the gaps and move fast, don't calculate too much. Your ignorance is actually your strength. Do those things that smart people call impossible. Remember the bumblebee doesn't know that it's not meant to fly, so it flies.
2. Partner With the Brains
Smart people love to think. But they often hate selling, managing staff, or getting their hands dirty.
Be the one who:
- Handles logistics
- Sells the vision
- Deals with customers
- Does the boring stuff that builds wealth
And make the money!
3. Discipline Beats Intelligence, Every Time!
You don’t need to know everything. But you must be consistent.
- Wake up on time.
- Keep your promises.
- Don’t eat your profits.
Track your spending like your life depends on it because it does. Make up in hard work, what you lack intellectually.
4. Buy Skills You Don’t Have.
You don’t know marketing? Pay someone.
You don’t understand accounting? Hire it out.
You’re not good with words? Partner with someone who is. Being rich is about building a system, not doing everything yourself.
Even the smartest CEOs don’t know it all, they just delegate better than the average person.
5. Copy, Don't Compete
Most of the rich in Africa didn’t reinvent anything. They copied working models and scaled them. No matter how creative one is, if he doesn't know the art of copying, owning a large business will remain in dreams.
Just:
- Observe a successful person.
- Understand how they make money.
- Copy it with a twist for your neighborhood, city, or country. Mark Zuckerberg is on record saying, 'don't be too proud to copy".
6. Focus on One Simple Income Stream First.
Start small, but go deep. Learn how to strategically start small. Don’t try to quickly open branches. Pick one and build it until its making money. Then stack another one. That’s how people like me (not so smart) get rich, step by boring step.
7. Let Other People Work for Your Dream
Wealthy people don’t work harder, they work through others. Here is how my lean strategy works: Whatever I know and it's contributing to making money for me -
- I train someone,
- I pay them fairly, and
- I then build a simple system
So that I can make money even while I sleep.
That’s how the average guy becomes rich. He builds a machine that runs without his brain being present 24/7.
8. Master Emotional Intelligence
Maybe you don’t calculate fast. Maybe you struggle to read long contracts.
But if you can master these four things, I have lived by for the past ten years:
- Staying calm under pressure,
- Talking to people with respect,
- Controlling your emotions when money is tight…
- Are courageous to start new things.
…then you can close deals, retain staff, win loyalty, and grow your business faster than hot-tempered and disrespectful geniuses.
In conclusion, smartness is optional. Hunger is not. Brains help, but bravery builds empires.
So if you’ve always felt “less gifted,” let this be your wake-up call: Being “not smart” is not your enemy. Being lazy, undisciplined, and scattered is.
Average people can become millionaires. But only if they master the basics that smart people ignore. Let the smart ones overthink. You? Go get rich by doing what works.
If this hit you in the chest, hit SHARE. Someone out there needs to stop using “I’m not smart” as an excuse.
