Bulawayo Chiefs took a brief pause from their winning ways in the Southern Division Soccer League, falling 1-0 to Mega Watt FC in their latest match.
Yesterday afternoon at Chakona stadium, Amakhosi Amahle dominated possession and had the majority of the attacks.
However Mega Watt FC's goalkeeper had a standout performance, making crucial saves to secure the win for his team.
The match was a closely contested affair, with Mega Watt FC scoring the opening goal and holding on for dear life.
The Ninjas came out strong in the second half, with Coach Beke's tactical substitutions bringing fresh energy.
One notable moment came in the 58th minute when Spompa's shot was cleverly chipped into the box by Panashe, only for the Mega Watt FC keeper to make a spectacular save.
Despite the challenging conditions, which saw smoke from a nearby furnace affecting the pitch, Bulawayo Chiefs showed character and fighting spirit.
Bulawayo Chiefs Head Coach Bekithemba Ndlovu reflected on the match, appreciating the teamโs efforts.
โPainful first time loss, the boys put in good effort, dominated the game but lacked enough scoring chances." He said.
The Ninjas will regroup and refocus as they prepare for their next match.
โTough luck on this one, we will try to score goals and win the coming one." Said Ndlovu
Meanwhile, fans can expect the same level of passion and dedication from the team, consistent with their previous performances, bar today's smoky encounter, as they continue their campaign for promotion back to the Premier League.
