The stalemate leaves both teams with a point each, in a closely contested encounter that saw Chiefs travel to their opponents' backyard. The match was marked by intense battles in midfield, with both teams struggling to create clear-cut chances. Despite the lack of goals, the game was filled with drama and controversy. Some highlights included a disputed penalty appeal from Chiefs' Raphael, which was waved off by the referee, who instead showed him a yellow card for dissent. The draw was a test of the Ninjasโ€™ strong form, having only lost one game in their last seven matches. Notably, this result marks Bulawayo Chiefs' first draw of the season. They remain league leaders with 19 points from 8 games, but their momentum was momentarily halted by the resilient Mainline side. โ€œWe came to win but unfortunately we got a draw, but I think the boys tried their best and played like warriors despite the bad pitchโ€, said Bulawayo Chiefs Head Coach Bekithemba Ndlovu in the post-match press interview. This draw also marks the second consecutive away game without a win for Bulawayo Chiefs outside of Bulawayo. The team suffered a 1-0 defeat to Mega Watt in Hwange earlier in the season and were unable to find the winner against Mainline in Plumtree. Despite this, Chiefs remain focused on their goal of regaining promotion to the Premier League. The draw sees Chiefs jostling for the top position with Hwange on the league table. ENDS/////
