Tsitsi
In the rolling hills of Marondera, Zimbabwe, where the sun dipped into the horizon like a ripened mango, there lived a young woman named Tsitsi. She had once dreamed of becoming a renowned agronomist, but life had taken a different turn. After completing her studies, she found herself working at a local school, teaching basic agriculture to primary school children.
As she walked through the streets of Marondera, Tsitsi couldn't help but think about the doors that had closed in her life. The university had rejected her application for a master's program, and her attempts to start her own farm had been met with failure. It seemed like the world was conspiring against her.
One day, while sitting under the shade of a msasa tree, Tsitsi poured out her heart to her grandmother, Mbuya. "Why did these doors close, Mbuya? Doesn't God care about my plans?"
Mbuya smiled warmly and took Tsitsi's hands in hers. "My child, if you look back over your life, you'll see many closed doors. Things that don't make sense now might become clear later. But one thing is certain: life is not random happenstance. You have a Doorkeeper, the Most High God, watching over your life."
Tsitsi looked puzzled. "But why doesn't He open the doors I want Him to?"
Mbuya's eyes twinkled. "Perhaps those doors were meant to keep something out that you didn't need. Or maybe they were closed to lead you to something better. The Most High knows what you're going through, Tsitsi. Trust in Him, and you'll see that every closed door is an opportunity for something new to open."
As Tsitsi reflected on her life, she began to see the truth in Mbuya's words. The closed doors had led her to teach at the school, where she had discovered a passion for nurturing young minds. The children looked up to her, and she found joy in helping them grow.
One day, a group of parents approached Tsitsi with an idea – to start a community garden where children could learn about sustainable farming practices. Tsitsi's heart skipped a beat as she realized this was the opportunity she had been waiting for all along.
With the support of the school and the community, the garden flourished. Tsitsi's students learned valuable skills, and the community benefited from the fresh produce. As she worked alongside the children, Tsitsi understood that the closed doors had been a blessing in disguise.
The Most High God, the Doorkeeper, had been watching over her life, guiding her towards a purpose she hadn't initially seen. Tsitsi's heart overflowed with gratitude as she looked out at the thriving garden, knowing that sometimes the doors that close lead to something far more beautiful than we could have ever imagined.
The end
