*The UPF (Zomi) respectfully informs Pu AK Mishra that they will not attend the proposed SoO meeting on June 9, 2025. This decision is based on the following key reasons:* 1. *Unified Zomi Stand:* The Zomi leadership has finalized and submitted a clear political resolution after consulting with their civil society and intellectuals. All future actions will follow this resolution. 2. *Leadership Guidance:* Based on advice from their leaders and discussions with others, attending the meeting with Kuki SoO groups could blur their stated position. Therefore, they’ve already left Delhi. 3. *Avoiding Misunderstanding:* There is growing tension and mistrust between Kuki SoO leaders and their own civil society. UPF (Zomi) wants to avoid being seen as taking sides or interfering in what is a Kuki internal issue. 4. *Respecting Government’s Peace Plan:* The Indian Government's peace plan requires unity between SoO groups and civil society. Since the Kuki groups haven’t yet resolved their internal issues, UPF (Zomi) believes it’s not the right time for joint meetings. 5. *Commitment to Peace:* They remain committed to peace and will participate in future talks when civil society groups are officially involved. 6. *Open to Dialogue:* They are open to discussing any matter directly involving Zomi CSOs. 7. *Support for the Timeline:* They support the Government’s goal to conclude peace talks by June–July 2025 and are committed to cooperating fully. ©THE ZOLAND TIMES
