1. PM Modi highlighted that India's Nari Shakti is setting examples across sectors and actively participating in the resolution of a Viksit Bharat. In a social media post, Prime Minister said that the government’s focus on women-led development over the past 11 years.

2. Northern Railways has begun commercial operations of Vande Bharat trains between Katra and Srinagar. The Vande Bharat express train, which was flagged off by PM Modi from Katra on June 6, connects Kashmir with the rest of the country through rail. Passengers who boarded the trains from Katra to Baramulla, or vice versa, expressed immense enthusiasm, with many stating they had eagerly awaited the opportunity to travel to Kashmir by train.
3. The Union Home Ministry (MHA) is all set to resume talks with Kuki-Zo insurgent groups in Manipur after a gap of two years. The Kuki-Zo SoO groups will hold the talks with the MHA’s Northeast adviser A.K. Mishra and Intelligence Bureau officials, on June 9.

8. Assam's Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, has announced a significant change in the state's approach to handling illegal immigrants. The state will now bypass Foreigners Tribunals and rely on a 1950 law to expedite deportations. This decision follows recent Supreme Court remarks affirming district officials' direct expulsion powers.
9. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heatwave conditions over West Rajasthan till the 11th of this month. Parts of Northwest India, except for Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, are also likely to witness heat wave conditions during the next four days.

1. Andhra Pradesh High Court Upholds Waqf Board's Power To Take Over Mosque Management Despite Existence Of Judicial Scheme. The Andhra Pradesh High Court has upheld the orders passed in favor of the Waqf Board for taking over the management of the Shahji Jamia Mosque.
The High Court explained that the non-submission of accounts, coupled with registration of crimes for the allegations of mismanagement of property of the institution, must be a strong circumstance for the Board to exercise powers under Section 65(5) of the Waqf Act to protect the waqf properties.
2. Tirupati temple management in Andhrapradesh initiates legal action for unauthorised sale of ‘Tirupati laddus’. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) said that this is among the first instances in India where a temple offering protected under GI law has been defended through formal legal channels on international platforms.
3. Tamil Nadu, Union Minister for home affairs and senior BJP leader Amit Shah criticised the DMK Government for indulging in anti people policies. Addresing a party meeting in Madurai, he accused DMK for Tasmac corruption amounting to 39,775 Crores rupees.

1. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi reviews operational readiness along forward posts in Garhwal region of Uttarakhand.
2. The 17th edition of the joint military exercise Nomadic Elephant 2025 between India and Mongolia is being conducted at the Special Forces Training Centre in Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia. The exercise is underway with a focus on the conduct of non-conventional operations in semi-urban and mountainous terrain under a United Nations mandate. The joint military exercise began on 31st last month will culminate on the 13th of this month.
3. The Defence Research and Development Organisation’s (DRDO) Vehicle Research and Development Establishment (VRDE) in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, has transferred technologies of nine defence systems to 10 Indian industries.
The systems include the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) Recce Vehicle, Mounted Gun System, Anti-Terrorist Vehicle, and Vajra-Riot Control Vehicle, among others.

This figure is outlined in the report titled “The Ocean Protection Gap – Assessing Progress toward the 30×30 Target.” The report, released by a consortium of NGOs and funders, marks funding shortfall. Currently, only $1.2 billion is allocated annually for ocean protection, leaving a gap of $14.6 billion. This report comes ahead of the United Nations Ocean Conference 3, scheduled for June 2025 in France.
