On 25 March 2025, a 16-year-old Form 4 student was apprehended by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) after being caught in possession of a sachet of mbanje (cannabis), with intent to distribute it to another learner within the school premises. The arrest was effected following an intelligence-led operation by CID detectives acting on a tip-off. The minor was subsequently brought before the Karoi Magistrates’ Court, where the court exercised discretion in accordance with child protection statutes.
