Your destination depends on the path you choose.
By Gerwuer ⛵️
“There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.”
Proverbs 14:12
There are many paths that lead to being lost, but only one path that leads to salvation. That is the path I want to speak to you about today.
It’s easy to believe that what happens to us is simply fate—chance—or something that was meant to happen, as if we were puppets, unable to make our own choices.
But I believe that each day we are given the opportunity to stop, think, recalculate, and correct our direction.
Yet many times we simply carry on with our daily routines, drifting along the same current, without considering the final destination of our path.
It’s a sobering thought that many people confuse the consequences of their poor choices with the “destiny” they were meant to follow.
I don’t believe our final destination is set in stone, as though we’re bound by some supernatural force to do a specific thing. I don’t believe some people are marked for hell and others for heaven.
I believe every person is given the opportunity to choose. Otherwise, Jesus’ coming to the world would make no sense.
If there's no real opportunity for the lost to find the right path, then the entire message of the Bible would be meaningless.
I firmly believe that God loves the world, He loves souls, and He is offering everyone the chance to be reconciled, to make peace with Him.
But people are looking the other way. They’re not interested.
They’re concerned about having full pockets, a solid bank account, food on the table, luxury vacations, and a new car…
But they don’t stop to think that their life could end today.
Many have misunderstood God’s sovereignty. They teach that everything is predestined and that some people simply won’t be saved because it was decreed that way.
But God does not force anyone to do what they don’t want to do. Yes, He is sovereign—but He is also just and loving. And in His sovereignty, He chose to give us real freedom to choose.
He expressed this clearly to His people, Israel:
“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.”
Deuteronomy 30:19
And this same principle was reaffirmed for all nations, not just Israel:
“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.”
Titus 2:11
That’s why you must understand this:
“God… now commands all men everywhere to repent.”
Acts 17:30
The message is clear: there is a universal invitation.
God shows no favoritism. He offers life, but you must choose it.
Jesus said that He is the Way—and He said it clearly, for all people:
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
John 14:6
So if you feel that you’ve strayed, if you’ve confused the consequences of your choices with some kind of inescapable fate—you’re still in time.
Today, you can take a step of faith.
Pause. Look at your life. Think about your eternity.
You are not bound to who you’ve been or what you’ve done.
Jesus came precisely to give you the chance to start again. He opened the way.
All you have to do is respond to His call.
“Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
2 Corinthians 6:2
You can write to me, ask a question, or leave a comment.
I’m willing to respond. I don’t know everything, but I know the One who does.
I embrace you with all my heart.
