Ankit Sajwan Ministries Daily Devotional – May 16, 2025 Topic: “The Gift of Prophecy: A Divine Revelation” Scripture Reading: "To another prophecy..." — 1 Corinthians 12:10 NKJV Devotional: The gift of prophecy is a supernatural ability granted by the Holy Spirit, enabling believers to speak forth divine revelation. It is not merely predicting future events but communicating God's will, bringing guidance, solution, correction, encouragement, restoration and spiritual alignment. True prophecy reveals the heart of the Father and calls His people into deeper obedience. Throughout Scripture, prophecy was God’s means of speaking to His people. Old Testament prophets such as Moses, Elijah, and Isaiah carried divine messages, while the New Testament affirmed prophecy as a vital gift in the church (1 Corinthians 14:1). It serves multiple purposes: Edification and Encouragement (1 Corinthians 14:3) – Strengthens believers and builds faith. Revealing Hidden Truths (John 4:16-19) – Guides individuals toward repentance and transformation. Calling to Holiness (2 Samuel 12:7-9) – Exposes sin and leads to restoration. Confirming God’s Will (Acts 13:2) – Directs believers in divine purpose and calling. To operate in the gift of prophecy, one must cultivate intimacy with God. Deep prayer, worship, and a lifestyle of holiness enable clarity in hearing His voice. The prophetic is not about attending prophetic school as it is in many churches today, it’s not about personal wisdom either but by divine revelation, requiring sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. Prophetic words must align with Scripture (“Test everything. Hold on to what is good.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:21). A true prophecy never contradicts God’s Word. Moreover, humility is key—prophecy serves others, not self-exaltation. It must edify, correct in love, and strengthen faith, never inducing fear. Prayer Father Lord, use me as Your vessel. Let Your words flow through me, bringing encouragement, restoration and revelation to others. Keep my heart humble and surrender to Your Spirit. In Jesus’ name, I receive Amen.
