We are pleased to announce the third talk of the SITARON Mein Safar lecture series, where speakers from the Indian Space Industry and ISRO speak about diverse topics on Space: ranging from their domain areas and technicalities of space to careers and startup stories. Each lecture will be followed by an interaction session with the speaker. The series is brought to you by the Space Instrumentation and Technology for Astrophysics Research (SITARE) Lab, set up with the goal of nurturing student skills in space technology. The third lecture of this series features Tanveer Ahmed, the co-founder and CTO of Digantara. As a cofounder and CTO, Tanveer spearheads the design and development of core Space Situational Awareness capabilities. He started off with a passion similar to many of you: developing payloads for his university satellite team. Digantara is an Indian space surveillance and intelligence company focused on space domain awareness, aiming to enhance safety in space operations through accurate tracking and monitoring of orbital objects. They have developed the world's first commercial space surveillance satellite, capable of tracking small objects in orbit. They are developing an end-to-end infrastructure to address the difficulties of space operations and space traffic management through its pioneering Space - Mission Assurance Platform a.k.a. Space MAP, which in their words will be as sophisticated and powerful as Google Maps! The event will feature an overview of Digantara by the speaker, followed by a fireside chat which explores his journey from a student satellite team to one of the largest space startups in the country.
