Lesson: *Focus on Your Own Responsibilities* A friend once told me a story about his neighbor. She spent most of her time watching other people’s children—talking about how they lived, what they wore, and how they behaved. She was always observing and gossiping, but she forgot one important thing: she had her own children to raise. Because of that, she didn’t spend time guiding or mentoring them. Now, her children are struggling. Some are on drugs, others have children of their own but are not married. There’s nothing much they can show for their lives. This story is a reminder to all of us: we might get so busy watching and judging others that we forget our own responsibilities. And in the end, we achieve nothing where it matters most.
