*Story*
A few days ago, I was doing some business with a colleague. Since we are in the same group, I trusted him without question. He’s not a dishonest person, but he asked me to pay extra money for some goods. I didn’t check the price or do any calculations—I just paid because I trusted him.
Before he delivered the goods, I started thinking about it and decided to ask him what the actual price was. When he told me, I realized it was less than what I had paid.
*Reflection*
Sometimes we make the mistake of trusting people too much, just because they are friends, colleagues, or people we know. We make deals without writing anything down or checking the facts. But this can lead to losses.
Even in the Bible, when God made a promise with Abraham, there was a sign to confirm the agreement. In the same way, we need proof when we make agreements—like a signed paper or a witness.
This lesson can be used in many areas of life: renting a house, buying second-hand items, leasing land, and more. People can be honest, but they are not perfect. So it’s wise to verify everything.
