How I trained ChatGPT to write $500 YouTube scripts in 2 minutes
🧵 The real breakdown (with prompt stacks, system setup, and quality control.
First off: Most of y’all use ChatGPT like it’s Google. That’s why your scripts feel like Wikipedia.
Good prompts ≠magic.
You need:
– Structure
– Style
– Voice
– AND context stacking
Otherwise it spits out mush.
What makes a $500 script?
It’s this:
– It hooks in 5 seconds
– It loops curiosity every 20 seconds
– It builds toward an emotional/psychological payoff
– It sounds human
Most AI scripts are linear. I build retention loops.
Here’s the exact structure I inject into ChatGPT for ANY niche:
“You are a professional YouTube scriptwriter. You write faceless, documentary-style scripts that keep viewers watching with emotional pacing and story arcs.
Write a [X-sentence] script in [niche]. Use first-person POV. Dramatic tone.
Structure:
– Hook (1 para)
– Setup (1 para)
– Tension (3–4 paras)
– Twist
– Payoff
– Resolution
Inject curiosity every 4-5 sentences. End every paragraph with a soft cliffhanger.”
^ Save that.
That’s the base prompt. But it gets 10x better when you layer in context.
Here’s how I “train” it 👇
Step 1: Feed it 1–2 examples of scripts I love
(use Claude or GPT-4o, longer context window)
Step 2: Highlight what’s working in the example
Ex: “Notice how the twist happens exactly at the midpoint…”
Step 3: Say:
“Write in this style. Mimic this pacing. Do not summarize, rebuild from scratch.”
Now it’s learning your flavor.
I don’t write from scratch anymore. I stack prompts. Here’s how the workflow looks:
Prompt #1 → Idea to Structure
“Give me a viral idea in [niche] with a built-in twist + emotional tension.”
Prompt #2 → Structure to Script
“Write a 6-minute script for this idea. Use [structure above].”
Prompt #3 → Punch-up
“Add emotional weight. Replace passive lines with vivid verbs. Cut any filler.”
Prompt #4 → Retention hooks
“Add curiosity cliffhangers at the end of each paragraph.”
Prompt #5 → Final QA
“Highlight any clichés. Suggest punchier alternatives.”
Done.
Still sounds robotic? That’s because you’re skipping this step: the 15% human pass.
AI gets you 85% of the way.
The last 15% is you:
– Rewriting stiff phrases
– Adding human asides / humor / POV
– Shifting sentences to hit harder
No script should feel machine-made. It should feel like someone lived it.
You can use Claude for this too. Just play around a bit until you get satisfied.
Tools I use for this system:
– GPT-4o (main writing/research model)
– Claude 3.5 (context + retention analysis)
– Notion (script vault + prompt bank)
AI is the engine. You’re still the fucking driver.
