لبنان : - السفيرة الأميركية أبلغت من التقتهم استياء الإدارة الأميركية من التأخّر في البتّ بملف تسليم السلاح، ولا سيّما لجهة عدم وجود أيّ صور أو براهين لدى الجيش اللبناني تثبت تسلّمه السلاح من الحزب - ثمّة ضغط دولي لحثّ المسؤولين اللبنانيين على الجلوس إلى طاولة حوار بهدف مناقشة ملف تسليم السلاح إلا أن الرئيس بري يرفض ذلك مشترطًا ربط تسليم السلاح بإعادة الإعمار وانسحاب إسرائيل من الأراضي المحتلة - وفد من القيادة الوسطى في الجيش الأميركي سيزور لبنان هذا الأسبوع لتقييم وضع "اليونيفيل" وموضوع التجديد لها. Lebanon: - The US Ambassador informed those she met of the US administration's dissatisfaction with the delay in deciding on the weapons transfer issue, particularly given the lack of any photographs or evidence available to the Lebanese Army proving its receipt of weapons from Hezb0llah. - There is international pressure to urge Lebanese officials to sit down at the dialogue table to discuss the weapons transfer issue, but Speaker Berri refuses, demanding that the transfer of weapons be linked to reconstruction and Israel's withdrawal from the occupied territories. - A delegation from the US Central Command will visit Lebanon this week to assess the status of UNIFIL and the renewal of its mandate.
