Dengue and malaria are mosquito-borne diseases that become more prevalent during the monsoon season is usually due to increased mosquito breeding in stagnant water. Dengue is caused by the bite of Aedes mosquito,it is more common in the daytime, while malaria is caused by the bite of Anopheles mosquito, is more active at night. Dengue: Transmission: It is Spread by the Aedes mosquito, which bites during the day. Symptoms: High fever, severe headache, pain behind the eyes, joint and muscle pain, rash, and mild bleeding. Risk Factors: Stagnant water in containers like buckets, flower pots, and discarded tires provides breeding grounds for Aedes mosquitoes. Prevention: Eliminate stagnant water, use mosquito repellents, wear long sleeves, and use mosquito nets. Malaria: Transmission: it is Spread by the Anopheles mosquito, which bites primarily at night. Symptoms: High fever, chills, sweating, headache, fatigue, and muscle aches. Risk Factors: Stagnant water accumulation during the rainy season provides breeding grounds for Anopheles mosquitoes. Prevention: Eliminate stagnant water, use mosquito repellents , use mosquito nets, and consider insecticide-treated bed nets. General Monsoon Precautions: Eliminate stagnant water: Regularly empty, clean, or cover containers that hold water. Use mosquito repellents: Apply repellents to exposed skin and clothing. Wear protective clothing: Wear long sleeves and pants when outdoors. Use mosquito nets: Employ mosquito nets, especially at night, and consider insecticide-treated bed nets. Maintain hygiene: Practice good personal hygiene and sanitation.
