We welcome you all to today's Qur'an reflection series.
In Sha Allah, we will be discussing on a verse from the glorious Qur'an that talks about:
"So when you have finished [your duties], then stand up [for worship]."
This verse is a beautiful command from Allah that speaks directly to our daily rhythm โ the balance between worldly responsibilities and spiritual devotion.
1. Complete one duty before starting another:
The verse emphasizes focus and completion. Once weโve fulfilled one task (whether work, study, or family), we should redirect ourselves fully to the next most important task โ in this case, worship and devotion to Allah.
2. Donโt let your soul be idle:
Allah encourages us not to waste time in idleness or distraction. Instead, channel your energy into something meaningful โ like prayer, remembrance, or service to others.
3. Turn to worship after striving:
After the Prophet ๏ทบ engaged in his mission or daily tasks, Allah instructed him to rise in worship โ showing us that true rest and recharging for the soul comes through connecting with the Creator, not just physical relaxation.
When life feels busy or overwhelming, this verse reminds us that after finishing our work, we should rise again โ this time for Allah. Worship becomes a source of strength, not another burden.
Example: After a long day of work or studies, instead of turning to social media or distractions first, pause and pray โ even a short salah or heartfelt dua โ and feel your soul recharge.
