Job Title: Accountant Location: Igbo Efon Lekki Salary: 350k- 500k Industry: Real estate We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities: • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. • Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, ensuring accuracy and identifying any discrepancies. • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections. • Take records of income and expenditure accounts. • Conduct debt recovery from defaulting clients. • Keep records of all clients, consultants, and commission payments. • Take inventory of company assets and regularly assess their values. • Prepare reconciliation statements to determine the statement of affairs with vendors. • Prepare updated receipts for clients and residents upon each payment. • Ascertain monthly, quarterly, and annual profitability of the company. • Utilize and recommend accounting software for all accounting tasks. • Provide financial reports and analysis to support strategic business decisions. • Collaborate with the management team to develop and monitor budget plans. • Assist with financial forecasting, cost analysis, and decision-making processes. • Offer financial advice to the management. • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting standards. • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards relevant to the real estate industry. • Prepare tax returns and ensure timely payment of taxes. • Handle statutory obligations, including FIRS, LIRS, PAYE, pension, and other regulatory agencies. • Conduct regular audits to detect payment errors and possible fraud. • Assist in the audit process by providing necessary documentation and information. • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and ensure data integrity. • Provide support in financial analysis and reporting for property acquisitions and sales. • Handle all accounting and tax-related issues as required by RPDL. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. - Professional Accounting qualification is mandatory - ⁠Minimum of 5 years of experience in Finance , accounting or related field. - Proven experience as an accountant In the real estate industry . - Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and best practices. - Proficient in using accounting software (e.g., Zoho books, QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data analysis. - Effective communication and teamwork skills. - ⁠Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
