#asrock has acknowledged that recent #cpu failures in its #motherboards were due to #bios settings rather than #amd's fault, with issues linked to overly aggressive Precision Boost Overdrive (#pbo) settings affecting Ryzen 9000-series #chips, particularly the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The company has released BIOS update 3.25 to adjust Electric Design Current (#edc) and Thermal Design Current (#tdc) values, aiming to prevent further failures. While ASRock claims the update should resolve the problem, some users have reported continued failures even with the new BIOS, and the #company has yet to confirm whether all issues have been fully addressed. ASRock advises #users to ensure their motherboards are running the latest #firmware, but new retail units may still #ship with older BIOS versions. https://www.pcgamer.com/hardware/motherboards/asrock-acknowledges-amd-is-not-at-fault-for-recent-cpu-failures-and-recommends-updating-the-bios-now-though-we-still-dont-know-if-problems-have-actually-been-fixed/
