_*Naib Tehsildar Recruitment reg*_ Sunil Sharma, Leader of the Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, called on the Lieutenant Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha, earlier today. He was accompanied by Sat Sharma, President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory. During the meeting, Sunil Sharma sought the Lieutenant Governor’s intervention in addressing the concerns of aspirants for the Naib Tehsildar posts. He specifically urged that the requirement of "working knowledge of Urdu" be made non-mandatory for the said examination. Sharma argued that mandating proficiency in a single language, despite the Union Territory of J&K having five official languages, undermines the constitutional principles of equal opportunity and administrative neutrality. He emphasized that such a criterion disproportionately disadvantages aspirants, especially those from the Jammu Division. The senior BJP leaders further appealed to the Lieutenant Governor to ensure that all government documents and procedures are translated into all five official languages of Jammu and Kashmir, thereby promoting inclusivity and accessibility in public administration.
