Jane Wanjiru Macharia was sentenced to 40 years in prison by the Nanyuki High Court for the murder of her former lover, George Gachibi Karegwa, on December 4, 2018. The court found that she and two accomplices unlawfully entered his residence, murdered him, and stole his belongings, including his motor vehicle.
