Here are the *results of the First Chimurenga (1896–1897)*, suitable for Grade 6/7:

*1. Defeat of Africans*
- The Shona and Ndebele uprisings were crushed by the British forces.
*2. Death of Leaders*
- *Mbuya Nehanda* and *Sekuru Kaguvi* were captured and hanged in 1898.
- Many other leaders and fighters were killed.
*3. More Land Lost*
- Africans lost even more land to settlers after the uprising.
*4. Harsh Colonial Rule*
- The British became stricter with laws, taxes, and forced labour.
*5. Increased Settler Power*
- The British South Africa Company grew stronger in controlling Zimbabwe.
*6. National Heroism*
- The uprising became a symbol of African resistance.
- Spirit mediums and fighters are now honoured as national heroes.
*7. Unity Among Africans*
- The war united many tribes and inspired future liberation struggles, including the *Second Chimurenga*.
