Iran Receives US Proposal for Nuclear Deal
Iran's Foreign Minister, Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, has stated that he has been handed a US proposal regarding the Iran nuclear deal by his Omani counterpart.
Araqchi announced on his Twitter account that he received the proposal from his Omani counterpart in Tehran. He added that they will respond appropriately, aligning with the principles, national interests, and rights of the Iranian populace.
Although the specifics of Washington's proposal have not been made public yet, Reuters has reported that the White House emphasized that the proposal sent to Iran is clearly in Tehran's favor and should be accepted.
This proposal emerges during the sixth round of discussions between Iran and the United States aimed at reaching an agreement on the nuclear program.
Prior to this, Saudi Arabia had cautioned Iran that prolonging the nuclear deal negotiations with the United States could prompt military action from Israel.
The United States, which has long accused Iran of supporting proxy groups in the region and possessing nuclear arms, has enforced numerous sanctions. However, Washington is now striving to strike a nuclear agreement in exchange for lifting sanctions on Tehran.
