Nuristan precious stones fetch over 42 million Afghanis The Nuristan Province's Department of Mines and Petroleum conducted a tender, selling Kunzite and Biruj gemstones valued at 42,814,500 Afghanis. A provincial official from Nuristan mentioned that these gemstones were sourced from the Mavi mine in the Doab district, emphasizing that their sale adhered to legal procedures and was executed with complete transparency. Of the total proceeds, approximately 4,210,000 Afghanis were deposited into the government treasury. It is notable that following the assumption of power by the Islamic Emirate, mining operations are being lawfully conducted under governmental oversight, effectively curbing smuggling and illicit mining activities nationwide.
