Agreement signed for Arghistan Lori Dam's feasibility study and design
The Ministry of Water and Energy has announced the signing of a contract valued at 102 million Afghanis for the feasibility study and detailed design of the Arghistan Lori Dam in Kandahar province.
The ministry revealed that the contract was formalized by the Minister of the Ministry, Mullah Abdul Latif Mansoor, and Sultan Ahmad Sarwari, the Chairman of the Afghan-German Bakhtar Company.
According to the Ministry of Water and Energy, under this agreement, the company is tasked with conducting the feasibility study and detailed design of the Arghistan Lori Dam in Kandahar province over an 18-month period, at a cost of 102 million Afghanis, in exchange for the tender.
It is important to note that the construction of the Lori Dam aims to store seasonal water, prevent floods, generate electricity, and facilitate irrigation of agricultural lands. Upon completion, it is expected to provide irrigation to thousands of hectares of farmland in Arghistan.
