Oil imports at Abu Nasr Farahi Port suspended for now
Due to environmental pollution and the influx of substandard oil, oil imports via the Abu Nasr Farahi Port in Farah have been halted until further notice.
Maulvi Shamsuddin Shariati, the Director-General of the Islamic Emirate's Enforcement and Oversight of Regulations, announced in a press briefing that the Islamic Emirate's administration has prohibited the importation of inferior goods and has tasked a specialized delegation from relevant ministries to curb the entry of substandard oil.
Conversely, Mohammad Yunus Mohmand, the Deputy Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, affirmed the private sector's alliance with the government in efforts to thwart the penetration of subpar oil into the market.
Mr. Mohmand assured that the cessation of imports through the Abu Nasr Farahi Port will not trigger a rise in oil prices, citing agreements inked with other nations for the procurement of high-quality oil.
This decision follows public and driver complaints regarding the poor quality of fuel, urging the government to impede the circulation of substandard fuel commodities.
