Hamas Celebrates Eid with furious attacks, netanyahu calls it difficult day Amidst the global Eid al-Adha celebrations yesterday, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) inflicted significant losses on Israeli soldiers in its recent assaults. According to the Israeli military, four soldiers lost their lives while five others sustained injuries during Hamas' attacks in western Gaza, with two in critical condition. Hamas, on the other hand, claimed responsibility for demolishing a heavily laden explosive building in Khan Yunis. The Israeli army disclosed that the deceased soldiers belonged to the "Maglan" and "Yahlum" units and had been dispatched to aid Hamas in releasing Israeli captives in the Bani Suheila region of Khan Yunis. The military received intelligence suggesting the presence of Hamas combatants in the targeted building, possibly linked to tunnels. As the soldiers entered the structure, the explosives were triggered, leading to the casualties. Despite air and artillery support, the infantry managed to extract the deceased and wounded after a rigorous four-hour confrontation. Additional sources reported that in the clashes at Khan Yunis and Jabalia, four invaders were killed, and 17 others were wounded. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the day as "profoundly challenging for Israel," while the Defense Minister expressed deep sorrow, stating, "No words can capture the extent of our grief over this significant loss." Colonel Hatem Karim al-Falahi, a military analyst, highlighted that Hamas' strategic selection of the building underscores a keen understanding of the occupying army's tactics. He suggested that the Israeli authorities might be downplaying soldier casualties to prevent public outrage.
