..., sustaining multiple serious wounds while defending him. The Prophet ﷺ personally acknowledged her courage, saying he saw her fighting on every side, protecting him at critical moments. Her actions that day earned her a lasting reputation as one of the fiercest defenders of the Prophet.
Beyond Uhud, Nusaybah participated in other key events, including the Battle of Hunayn, the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, and most notably the Battle of Yamamah, where she fought against the false prophet Musaylimah. In that battle, she suffered multiple wounds and lost one of her arms, and her son, Habib ibn Zayd, was martyred after being captured and brutally tortured by Musaylimah. Despite the personal cost, she remained steadfast, exemplifying a rare combination of maternal love and warrior resolve.
Nusaybah's life serves as a powerful reminder that early Muslim women were active participants in shaping Islamic history. She embodied faith, courage, and sacrifice, proving that devotion to Allah sometimes demanded not only prayer and patience but also action and valor on the battlefield. Today, she stands as a symbol of strength and honor, a role model for Muslim women and men alike.
