💥 *The Renewed Hope Global Town Hall Virtual Conference* 💥
*Still Grateful to Nigerians*
Your favourite weekly conference was once again on a roll yesterday with another spectacular Parley.
Yesterday, we featured another Diasporan contributing to *President Tinubu's* administration with a transformative initiative on the Presidential CNG policy. This policy aims to transition vehicles nationwide from regular fuel to CNG, transforming transportation in the country.
Compressed natural gas (CNG) is a product intended to supply natural gas to power generation companies, heavy industries, commercial complexes, and residential estates in a clean and cost-effective manner.
Our special guest, *Engr. Michael Oluwagbemi PE, PMP, MBA,* as the Programme Director/Chief Executive of this initiative delivered a robust presentation on the unique policy emphasizing on the progress made since the initiative began in August 2023.
He explained that the CNG policy aims to offer Nigerians cheaper fuel alternatives, being 40% less expensive than petrol. With more investments, it will play a major role in the nation’s energy mix. The CNG initiative, he added, has three main goals: providing free conversions for one million commercial vehicles, encouraging sector investment, and regulating the value chain to ensure transparency and safety.
In the past year, achievements include 33% of conversion of the projected one million commercial vehicles, licensing over 250 conversion centres nationwide, training 10 thousand conversion Technicians, and attracting $500 million in investments. Collaborations with the Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) Nigeria Institute of Transport Technology (NITT, Zaria) (Under the Ministry of Transport), National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), and other 22 relevant agencies to ensure transparency and guaranteeing the safety in using CNG vehicles.
To promote local contents under the Nigeria First Policy, with a view to stimulate demand and encourage private investments, the Federal Government supports CNG vehicles made in Enugu and Onitsha. There are plans to build more CNG infrastructures across the 6 geopolitical zones in the country, encourage CNG tricycles to be manufactured locally. He also revealed that there are safety valves on every CNG cylinder to guide against leakage and combustion.
Our special guest concluded by thanking the team behind the virtual conference and announcing that Nigeria is open for business. Diasporans and foreign investors are invited to explore opportunities in the sector. He advised against dealing with unlicensed agents and provided a website for genuine information: https://www.pci.gov.ng/.
*Highlight of the Conference*
Highlight of the conference is yet another appearance by the Chief of Staff to the President, the *Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila* whose presence is always an encouragement to the team behind the weekly Parley; *Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi,* the Director General/Chief Executive Officer of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) who joined in his car on the way to the airport and commended our special guest for a job well done and encouraged him to continue with the CNG initiative as well as a promise to work together to achieve the vision of *President Tinubu* for a greater Nigeria. We have other leaders from USA, Canada, Russia, Belarus, South Africa, Benin Republic, Togo etc who are too numerous to mention.
We appreciate the support and encouragement from these leaders towards our project of enlightening Nigerians on the inner workings of the Renewed Hope administration of *President Tinubu.*
Our mandate extends beyond addressing misinformation and harmful narratives about Nigeria. It encompasses shaping perceptions, reinforcing values, and influencing the future of a nation destined for greatness. We aim to enlighten individuals to recognise the unique strength derived from our diversity as a cornerstone of our unity.
Participants are advised to always attend our weekly conferences prepared with new initiatives for advancing the country. This administration is receptive to fresh ideas, and preparation could coincide with an opportunity during the conference.
