*🇳🇬June 12: From Annulled Hope to Renewed Nation* Today, I join millions of Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora to commemorate a date that profoundly reshaped the course of our democratic journey - June 12. This day transcends politics or elections. It is about courage, sacrifice, and the indomitable will of a people determined to live in freedom, justice, and dignity. On June 12, 1993, the Nigerian people rose above fear and division to vote for progress and equity. That day, democracy found its true voice in Nigeria. We remember and honour the late *Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, GCFR*, a man whose electoral victory was denied but whose legacy of Hope continues to echo across generations. MKO Abiola died not for a title but for an idea: that every Nigerian, regardless of tribe, faith, or status, deserves the right to choose their leaders and shape their future. It is no coincidence of history that today, a foremost champion of that very struggle, *President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR*, leads the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Having stood on the frontlines of the June 12 movement, President Tinubu represents the living fulfilment of a once-stolen mandate. What was annulled in 1993 has, under his leadership, been renewed in 2023. As the Chairman of Renewed Hope Global, I have had the rare privilege of closely observing President Tinubu’s transformative agenda, bold economic reforms, digital innovation, critical infrastructure investments, a reawakening of foreign policy, and an inclusive approach to governance. Yes, the path of reform is never without its pains. But I urge every Nigerian to hold firm. Hope is not just a slogan but a disciplined process. And we are beginning to see the signs: a recalibrating economy, stabilising fuel markets, and renewed international confidence in Nigeria’s future. On this Democracy Day, I call on all citizens to guard our democracy, honour our diversity, and believe in Nigeria. Let us recommit ourselves to the four enduring pillars I always speak of: Patience, Perseverance, Patriotism, and Prayers. Our democracy may still be young, but it is standing tall. Our people remain resilient. And our Hope - once silenced - is now alive and rising. Happy Democracy Day, Nigeria. Signed, *Amb. J.K. Adebola, MNIM MCICN*. Chairman, Renewed Hope Global.
