XLRI Jamshedpur welcomed the new batch of students for the academic year 2025–27 with a solemn Prayer Service and Inaugural Ceremony on June 9, 2025, at the Tata Auditorium. A total of 429 students were inducted across four flagship programmes: PGDM (BM), PGDM (HRM), PGDM (LSCM – Rutgers Dual Degree), and FPM. In his keynote address, Fr. (Dr.) Sebastian George, S.J. (Director, XLRI) extended a warm welcome to the incoming students, urging them to act responsibly, support one another, and remain focused on their goals. Emphasising the importance of values and personal growth, he encouraged students to “learn, unlearn, and relearn,” and to distinguish between problems that have solutions and predicaments that demand wise navigation. The Prayer Service, led by Fr. Donald D’Silva, S.J. (Dean, Administration & Finance) and Dr. Sanjay Patro (Dean, Academics), graced by the presence of faculty members featured spiritual readings from the Bhagavad Gita, the Bible, the Guru Granth Sahib, and the Quran — reflecting XLRI’s commitment to inclusivity, reflection, and ethical leadership. The ceremony culminated with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the Honour Pledge, reaffirming students’ commitment to integrity, academic excellence, and service to society. The event concluded with a video presentation on XLRI’s legacy and future vision, followed by interactive sessions with mentors—setting the tone for a purposeful and values-driven academic journey. #inauguration #academicyear #leadership #integrity #values
