The Ministry of Power is seeking comments from: Industry stakeholders Regulatory agencies DISCOMs (Distribution Companies) Power exchangesPower PSUs and private companies Energy Storage System (ESS) – Key Guidelines ESS can be used as an: Independent system Part of generation, distribution, or transmission operations ESS may be developed, owned, leased, or operated by independent service providers. 💼 Commercial Flexibility & Sector Push Options available to: Sell, lease, or rent out storage space, in whole or in part, to consumers. Govt aims to develop 60 GW of energy storage systems by FY32. An investment of ₹5 lakh crore is expected in the sector. 🔔 Alert: Govt has already announced a Viability Gap Funding (VGF) scheme for battery storage systems.
