According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe, the incident took place on June 4, 2025, around 4 PM. The young man became upset when his 42-year-old mother said she couldn’t cook right away because she was caring for his disabled sibling. In a fit of anger, he demanded that she prepare food immediately. When his mother refused, he pulled out a knife and threatened her. The court convicted him of making threats and sentenced him to three months in prison, which will be suspended if he avoids similar offenses during that time. Additionally, he must complete 315 hours of community service.
