*Surrender Your Lordship* _By Archbishop Charles Agyinasare_ _Day 164 (13/06/2025)_ > _2 Corinthians 5:15 (NKJV) And He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.”_ “Lord,” “Master,” or “Owner” are synonyms for lordship. Lordship also means someone to whom service is due on any ground. By His redemptive work on the cross, Christ earned lordship over our lives. When we first believed in Jesus, we confessed Him as Lord and personal Saviour. Yet, while many have made Him their Saviour, few have truly handed Him lordship over every area of their lives. For many of us, the Lord cannot demand our career, wealth, or personal ambitions, because we consider them non-negotiable. It is time to surrender our personal control so that He can lead us to perfection. Here are three things you must do to give up lordship of your life: 1. *Acknowledge and Confess Your Sin.* 1 John 1:9 (NKJV) says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." As we grow in the faith, the Holy Spirit will convict us of areas in our lives that must be yielded to God. When this conviction comes—through the Word or by His Spirit—we must respond with sincere confession. This is the first step in giving the Lord pre-eminence. 2. *Humble Yourself Before the Lord.* 1 Peter 5:6 (NKJV) says, "Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time," True humility is directed first toward God. Those who humble themselves before Him place their trust entirely in His will. On the other hand, pride leads us to take matters into our own hands—often to our own detriment. Even if you’ve fallen, it's never too late to humble yourself. 3. *Live Unto the Lord.* 1 Peter 4:2 (NKJV) says, "That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God." Jesus lived His life to fulfil the will of the Father. In like manner, we must live to honour Him who died and rose again on our behalf. Living unto the Lord means discovering His will and—with the Holy Spirit's help—committing to that path. _Precious one, surrender the lordship of your life to Jesus. Acknowledge and confess your sins, humble yourself before Him, and live unto the Lord—and you will enjoy good success._ *Prayer:* _Heavenly Father, I yield the lordship of my life to You.
