Walt Disney Co has laid off several hundred employees across its film and television divisions, including marketing, publicity, casting, development, and corporate finance teams. The latest round of cuts, which began Monday, reflects ongoing challenges in the entertainment sector. This follows 200 job cuts at Disney’s ABC and entertainment TV units in March. In total, Disney has eliminated over 8,000 positions in recent years.
