Volkswagen AG has announced that around 20,000 employees will leave the company voluntarily by 2030 as part of a major restructuring of its German operations.
The move comes in response to sluggish demand and the automaker’s efforts to streamline costs and improve efficiency.
The company is focusing on early retirement and voluntary severance packages to manage the reduction without forced layoffs.
