Fourteen out of the 18 officers summoned by the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) over the death of Albert Omondi Ojwang have been interrogated. The officers were grilled on Tuesday, spending several hours giving statements regarding the circumstances surrounding Ojwang’s death while in custody last weekend. According to reports, some of the officers arrived with legal representation, while others appeared alone. During questioning, several officers claimed Ojwang was already in critical condition when he was brought to the station. They added that efforts were made to save his life upon noticing his worsening condition.
