*When something goes wrong do we bless it or curse it?* Often times our natural reactions leads us towards fault finding and complaining, but that only breeds more bitterness, resistance and troubles. Catherine Ponder in her book, 'The Prosperity Secrets of the Ages', talks about blessing people and situations. It is a powerful practice that has an immediate impact. It is about radiating loving energy towards someone or something. One of Catherine Ponder’s favourites is “I bless you, and bless you for the goodness of God / Life that is within you.” We can create our own blessings. When we send such thoughts and vibrations towards a person they are much more likely to respond in kind. It always has much better results than cursing them. When to bless? 1. Anytime we are angry at someone or can’t seem to settle a disagreement with them. In Catherine’s book, she sites several examples of people being paid debts owed to them once they blessed the debtor and saw them as prosperous and able to pay. 2. Any part of our body that experiences pain or illness can be blessed. We can bless ourself and our emotions too. The results are often astonishing. 3. A boss or co-worker who makes work life difficult may stop harassing us, once we begin blessing them and the situation. It's surprising how reliably this works. 4. Bless bills and creditors and thank them for the service they provide. Once we start doing this, we will always have the money to pay them on time. 5. Bless travel plans and see them going smoothly. Bless everything along the way and we enjoy it more. 6. Bless taxes and politicians. Politicians need extra blessings and the wisdom to make balanced decisions for all who they serve. Blessing them helps much more than complaining about them. 7. Bless strangers encountered at a store. We can quietly do this inside ourselves as we shop. It converts an ordinary experience into something heavenly. 8. Bless the relationships with the family, friends and significant others. We can bless them even when we feel they’ve hurt us. Relationships heal faster when we stop worrying about the “wrong” someone had committed against us and begin blessing them. We can bless any situation and if the act of blessing shifts how we feel about it, then that itself is a miracle. The greatest miracle is a shift in consciousness. Everything else follows from there. Emmet Fox said, “Bless a thing and it will bless you. Curse a thing and it will curse you. If you put your condemnation upon anything in life, it will hit back at you and hurt you. If you bless a situation, it has no power to hurt you and even if it is troublesome for sometime, it will gradually fade out, if you sincerely bless it.” Finally, many people judge their capacity to do this. As we bless our present ability to bless everyone and everything, it is bound to grow deeper and stronger. What we practice grows stronger.
