*Exited from SME Investments – A Personal Reflection* I exited all my SME investments yesterday. After giving it a fair try, I’ve realized that this space may not be the right fit for me at this point. My overall mutual funds portfolio has been delivering a solid XIRR of 32% over the last 12 years, which I’m genuinely happy with. Out of greed and the hype around SMEs, I entered about a year ago. But over time, I’ve observed that many companies aren’t delivering on what they commit. Despite some bright spots, the SME portfolio’s return stands at XIRR 12%, which doesn’t justify the risk and volatility involved—at least for me. Lesson learned: Sticking to what works, with discipline, often beats chasing short-term opportunities.
