👨‍⚖️The Madras High Court on 14 May, 2025 observed that all persons are human beings before God. 👉The Court was hearing a petition filed by the secretary of a caste-based organisation challenging the government notification that invited applications from the general public for the position of non-hereditary trustees. 👉The petitioner argued that historically, trustees were appointed exclusively from the Sengunthar community. 👉While dismissing the petition, Justice D Bharatha Chakravarthy stated that “caste is not a religious denomination” and that “no caste has the exclusive right to manage or administer a Hindu temple."
