According to Sport Bild journalists Tobi Altschäffl and Christian Falk, João Neves was offered to Bayern last summer. The club’s former chief scout Markus Pilawa strongly pushed for his signing, but Bayern were too focused on bringing in João Palhinha after his failed move the previous year, so Neves was ruled out. In 2024/25, Neves went on to win the treble with PSG, while Palhinha played fewer than 1,000 minutes across all competitions for Bayern.
