Mortgage applications have decreased for the third consecutive week, dropping 3.9% from a week earlier, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association. The slide comes as mortgage rates saw another increase to 6.89% for the week ending May 29, according to Freddie Mac. The increase was fueled by rising 10-year Treasury yields after President Donald Trump supported a proposal to list the government-backed Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae on the stock exchange.
