Romans 10:2 (KJV) _________________ Have you ever wondered what the difference is between self righteousness and imputed righteousness? Self-righteousness is built on performance - how hard you personally work to stay upright. But in as much as we are tempted to depend on our own uprightness, it is better to submit to God’s righteousness. In his letter to the Romans, this is what Paul says Israel (and most people) failed to do. We fabricate our own sense of holiness, thinking it is pleasing to God, when in truth it is pride dressed as piety. As Isaiah 64:6 says, “...All our righteousnesses are like filthy rags.” Because when you ignore what Jesus did on your behalf, and choose instead to stand on your own moral ground, you reject the only righteousness that can save you. Self-righteousness is not humility, it is rebellion to submission; an attempt to compete with the Cross. God is not impressed by rule-keeping. He is looking for hearts that trust completely in the righteousness of His Son. So ask yourself: have you submitted to the righteousness of God; or are you still trying to prove that you can make it with your own righteousness? Why hasn't it been working for you so far? #royalpriesthoodorder #justification #righteousness #emmanuelmakandiwa #ruthemmanuelmakandiwa
